Das ZKM | Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie ist eine Stiftung des
öffentlichen Rechts und hat die Aufgabe, als Einrichtung  der Forschung,
der Kulturvermittlung und der Weiterbildung, eine umfassende
Auseinandersetzung mit Kunst und Medientechnologie  zu ermöglichen.

Das ZKM sucht ab Januar 2003 eine geeignete Persönlichkeit für  die

Leitung des Instituts für Bildmedien

Das Institut für Bildmedien des ZKM hat sich als eines der  weltweit
führenden Zentren für künstlerische Forschung und Produktion im Bereich der
neuen Medientechnologien etabliert. Es verfügt über  ein hochentwickeltes
Instrumentarium technischer Ressourcen und  über ein engagiertes Team von
qualifizierten technischen und  künstlerischen Mitarbeitern.

Im Institut für Bildmedien erwarten Sie folgende  Arbeitsschwerpunkte:

     Forschung, Entwicklung von Hard- und Software
     Management von Drittmittelprojekten und Kooperationen
     Produktionen mit Schwerpunkt auf Medienanwendungen für
     Performance/darstellende Kunst
     Ausstellungen, Veranstaltungen und Publikationen
     Arbeitsaufenthalte von Gastkünstlern und Gastwissenschaftlern

Gesucht wird eine Persönlichkeit, die eine präzise Vorstellung von der
zukünftigen Entwicklung kreativer, inhaltsorientierter Forschung und
Produktion im Bereich der Medienkunst im europäischen und internationalen
Kontext hat und aufgrund einschlägiger Berufserfahrung als Künstler,
Theoretiker und Manager in der Lage ist, diese Vision im Kontext des ZKM
umzusetzen.

Von Interessenten für diese Stelle werden ausgezeichnete Kenntnisse der
neuen Medientechnologien in konzeptueller, kreativer und technischer
Hinsicht, Leitungs- und Koordinierungskompetenz und die Bereitschaft zur
Teamarbeit vorausgesetzt. Ebenso wird die Fähigkeit erwartet, Projekte in
allen Phasen zu planen und zu leiten.

Die Stelle soll zum 1. Januar 2003 für einen Zeitraum von 5 Jahren besetzt

The ZKM | Center for Art and Media is a public foundation. As  an
institution for research, further education and the  transmission of
cultural knowledge, the ZKM’s task is to enable a comprehensive dialogue
with issues pertaining to art and media technology.

As of January 2003, the ZKM | Center for Art and Media is  looking for a
highly qualified person for the following position:

Director of the Institute for Visual Media

The Institute for Visual Media at the ZKM has established  itself as one of
the world’s leading centers for artistic research and  production in the
area of new media technologies. It has at its disposal a  highly developed
network of technical resources and a committed team  of qualified technical
and artistic employees.

In the Institute for Visual Media, the following main tasks  await you:

     Research, developing hardware and software
     Managing projects by third parties and cooperative work
     Productions where the emphasis is on media applications  for
     performance art / the performing arts
     Exhibitions, events and publications
     Work visits from guest artists and guest scholars

We are looking for someone who has a precise idea of the future development
of creative, contents-oriented research and  production in the area of
media art in the European and international context  and who, due to
relevant job experience as an artist, theoretician  and manager, is in the
position to realize this vision in the  context of the ZKM.

Requirements for applicants for this position include:  excellent knowledge
of the new media technologies from a conceptual,  creative and technical
standpoint, the ability to lead and coordinate as  well as a readiness for
team work. You will also be expected to be able  to plan and direct
projects in all phases. The position is supposed to  be occupied from
